Who we are ……

Our Founder, David A. Heiner

David A. Heiner founded Dave Heiner Associates on January 1, 1977, bringing together his knowledge of water and wastewater equipment and his commitment to the people who relied on it. He built DHA around understanding customers’ needs, connecting them with appropriate equipment, and developing lasting relationships with customers and manufacturers.

Dave’s approach helped shape the company’s identity. Technical knowledge mattered, and so did integrity, personal attention, and standing behind the equipment DHA represented. Those principles became the foundation for the business and continue to guide its work today.

Dave passed away in September 2011. His legacy continues through Gail and Jeff Heiner and the DHA team, who carry forward the relationships, values, and commitment to service on which he built the company.

Since 1977, DHA has represented manufacturers of water, wastewater, and industrial process equipment, helping municipal and industrial customers connect their operating and project requirements with appropriate equipment options. We bring application knowledge, manufacturer relationships, and local experience to those conversations—along with a willingness to ask questions and work through the details.

For operators, that means having someone to contact about existing equipment, replacement options, or an application that needs attention. For consulting engineers, it means access to technical information and equipment selection assistance during planning and design. For contractors, it means a resource for equipment questions and coordination with the manufacturers we represent. Each has a different responsibility, but all need clear information and dependable follow-through.

Our involvement also extends beyond equipment selection. Startup assistance, training, field service, calibration, and repair coordination are part of how DHA supports customers as equipment moves into operation and throughout its service life. When a question arises after the sale, the relationship matters just as much as it did at the beginning.

We serve New Jersey, metropolitan New York, and Connecticut, with coverage varying by manufacturer and location. As a woman-owned business with WBE certifications through New Jersey State, New York City, Suffolk, Nassau, and Westchester, we also support customers whose projects include supplier diversity requirements.
