Powering Performance with Tsurumi Pumps
SEWAGE AND WASTEWATER MARKET - Solids Handling Pumps
Tsurumi’s pumps are engineered to tackle the toughest challenges in wastewater and sewage applications. With engineering features that offers extended operational life over traditional designs, Tsurumi offers a unique design that fits all types of customer's wastewater and sewage
applications.
AVANT® Explosion Proof Pumps and Mixers
Tsurumi's AVANT FM approved line of products for hazardous location have been designed to optimize performance at the necessary duty point with energy savings due to the high efficiency motors. The materials of construction like the cast iron body, dual silicon carbide mechanical seals and moisture probes reduce downtime. The AVANT line includes the MQ Series, a highly customizable pump, the MY Series a readily available option, and the MMR Mixers.

MQ Series
Whether a wet or dry pit (with closed loop cooling jacket) configuration is needed, the MQ series is the right choice. The many options available with the MQ series of pumps are sure to meet the needs of the most challenging application. The AVANT pumps also feature five different types of impellers — Open Channel (MQB), Chopper (MQC), Vortex (MQU), Grinder (MQG) and High Head (MQS).

MY Series
This powerful pump, like our MQ line, can withstand the challenges posed by hazardous locations. The MY series of pumps are the newest addition to our AVANT line aimed at satisfying the immediate needs of our customers. The AVANT pumps also feature four different types of impellers — Open Channel (MYB), Chopper (MYCZ), Vortex (MYU), and Grinder (MYG).

MMR Series
The AVANT MMR Series of submersible mixers feature an FM approved design for hazardous location use. These mixers generate strong, high flow, high thrust, even planetary gear for the highest degree of mixing, which is ideal for keeping solids suspended and preventing settling. This series was designed with premium IE3 motors, dual silicon carbide mechanical seals, and built in thermal and leakage sensors. It can operate in a wide range of conditions including municipal, industrial and agricultural applications. Models include MMR 200 (1-2 HP), MMR 300 (2-4 HP), MMR 400 (4-6 HP), and MMR 650 (5-10 HP).
FM Approved Design
FM Approvals is an international leader in third-party testing and certification services. They test property loss prevention products and services for use in commercial and industrial facilities. Rigorous loss prevention standards of quality, technical integrity and performance are verified by employing a worldwide certification process that’s backed by scientific research and testing, and over a century of experience. Our AVANT line is FM approved thus rated and approved for hazardous locations. This allows our line of FM Approved Pumps and Mixers to be able to provide solutions for these demanding challenges
Anti-Clog Hydraulic Design
The AVANT All hydraulic components are designed for the highest efficiency and the best performance while still ensuring ample free passage. All models with open channel impeller feature an axial adjustment system allowing the impeller clearance to be restored. This feature maintains performance even as components wear over time. One of the biggest problems, in wastewater, is clogging of impellers due to fibrous and stringy materials. The solution to this type of clogging is the AVANT open channel impeller pump, adopting this new and innovative Anti-Clogging System (ACS). The ACS uses the centrifugal force of the impeller to pull out the stringy material via a spiral groove cut into the diffuser plate. This combination eliminates the fibrous material clogging of the impeller.
Applications
Municipal SWW Collection and Treatment
Commercial Building Sewage & Wastewater
About TSURUMI PUMP
IE3 Premium Efficiency Motors
The heart of the AVANT line lies in its premium-efficiency, IE3 electric motors, designed for continuous duty while reducing energy consumption. The MQ Series of pumps and the MMR series of Mixers are both equipped with the IE3 premium efficiency motors. This meets the requirements of NEMA Class A and Class H insulation for all models in the range. The AVANT line offers S1 duty mode operation even in water at a temperature up to 104°F.
Specialized Coatings Available
The Molib-tech™ coating, adopted by Tsurumi, is specially formulated to prevent, and reduce wear due to erosion or cavitation on pump impellers, suction flanges, and housings. Molib-Tech, is an alternative to conventional ceramic coatings. The Molib-Tech process applies a layer of high strength material to the iron, to improve the product’s mechanical resistance (to abrasive environments) and performance characteristics. Unlike conventional ceramic coating, the uniform layer of material does not cause any change in clearance or loss of performance. The Molib-tech™ coating used by Tsurumi was specifically developed to increase component wear resistance, improve durability, and keep performance consistent over time, even in extreme duty conditions.
